Every manuscript needs something different. You may want a close look at your opening, a professional assessment of the entire book, an in-depth edit, or an experienced second brain for one difficult story problem.
These four services are designed for different stages of revision.
Before you book
Developmental editing looks at how a story works as a whole. It focuses on the choices shaping the reader’s experience—not on correcting every sentence.
What it is
We look at structure, plot, character arcs, motivation, conflict, stakes, pacing, point of view, worldbuilding, theme, and emotional impact. The goal is to identify what is working, where readers may struggle, and which revisions will matter most.
What it isn’t
It is not proofreading, copyediting, or a line-by-line rewrite. I will not take over your voice, reshape the book into my preferred version, or promise publication. Those needs belong to different stages of the editorial process.
What to expect
Expect a close, thoughtful read; an editorial letter calibrated to your service; margin comments when included; and prioritized next steps. Feedback is guidance, not a command—you remain the author and decide what best serves the book.
How it works
You do not need to know exactly which service you need before reaching out. We’ll identify the right level of support together.

I’ll review the details, consider editor–author fit, and may request sample pages before recommending a service.
You’ll receive the proposed scope, investment, turnaround, available dates, and a service agreement to review.
Your project is scheduled once the agreement is signed and the required deposit or full payment has been received.
I’ll read closely and prepare the feedback included in your service while keeping your goals and voice at the center.
After any remaining balance is paid, you’ll receive the final materials and the follow-up support included with your service.
