About Kevin
Thoughtful editing starts with understanding the story you’re trying to tell.
I’m Kevin Boringot, a developmental editor and writer who works with Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Contemporary Fiction, Speculative Fiction, and Mystery & Thriller. My job is not to reshape your manuscript into the book I would write. It’s to understand what you are trying to accomplish, identify what is already working, and help the story land more fully.
Why I edit
The heart of a story lives between the plot points.
I’m drawn to fiction with strong emotional stakes, complicated relationships, vivid voices, and characters who are trying to become someone different from who they were at the beginning.
Those inner shifts are where structure becomes meaning: the choice a character avoids, the relationship that changes the terms of the story, the moment a reader understands what was truly at stake.
